Consolidated Medical Travel is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Centennial, Colorado.

PCU / IMC Float RN – Zone 1 (Colorado Springs Region)

NO HOME BASE FACILITY — MUST FLOAT WITHIN ENTIRE ZONE

Shift Notes
  • Shift: Nights (7p–7a)
  • Weekend Requirements: 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • Float Requirement: Must float within Zone 1 at all times:
    • PEN (Penrose), SFH, SFI, SMC, STM
  • Travelers must be flexible and prepared to float daily based on need.

Hiring Process
  • Interview conducted only with MedSol Clinical Team
  • No unit manager interview
  • 60-mile radius rule applies
  • Driver’s License must be submitted
Floating Expectations
  • Travelers float throughout Zone 1 (60-mile radius from zone’s city center).
  • Must obtain housing that allows floating anywhere within the 60-mile zone , regardless of where the traveler chooses to live.
  • NO HOME BASE FACILITY.

Travelers may also be asked to float to sister facilities within Zone 1 , including:

  • St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC)
  • St. Francis InterQuest
  • St. Mary Corwin (SMC)
  • St. Thomas More (STM)

Float assignment for each schedule is provided in advance.
First assignment communicated on or before Monday start date .

Orientation Requirements
  • Must be in-state for orientation week
  • First-day modules may be completed remotely
  • Unit/Department Orientation: 1–2 days with a preceptor

  • RN: 1:3–4 depending on acuity
  • Nurse Aides: Yes (staffing varies by unit)
  • Charge Nurse:
    • Designated charge per unit
    • Typically no assignment , unless needed (more common at night)

  • Minimum 2 years PCU/IMC experience
  • Prefer neuro experience
  • Prefer Epic experience
  • Must have experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, ativan, and heparin
Drip Requirements RNs Must Be Comfortable Titrating/Managing:
  • Cardiac drips
  • Insulin
  • Ativan
  • Heparin
Common Drips Include:
  • Dopamine
  • Dobutamine
  • Cardizem
  • Amiodarone
  • Ativan
  • Insulin
  • Heparin
Respiratory Equipment
  • Ventilators

Scheduling & Holidays

  • Shift: 7a–7p or 7p–7a (Nights for this role)
  • Schedule:
    • Created by leadership for 6 weeks at a time
    • Travelers expected to be flexible and fill gaps
    • Not self-scheduling
  • Time Off:
    • Must be submitted prior to assignment start
  • Holiday Rotation: May be assigned
  • Call/Standby: Rare (mostly for low census)

Assignment Communication
