Our client designs and manufactures advanced RF Absorbing Materials Electrically Conductive Elastomers and Maxair Vent Panels serving the Aerospace Automotive and Defense industries. Their state-of-the-art facility features in-house testing materials research and RF modeling capabilities to deliver high-performance electromagnetic solutions through collaboration with a global network of experts.

The Role:
We’re seeking an experienced Composites Technician to join the advanced manufacturing team. In this role you’ll fabricate assemble and repair precision composite components for high-performance applications. This position requires a strong eye for detail technical accuracy and adherence to process controls in support of aerospace and defense production.

Note: This is an ITAR facility –  U.S. citizenship is required. Active or inactive security clearance (or the ability to obtain one) is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform prepreg layups per detailed work instructions drawings and specifications.
• Prepare molds tooling and surfaces for layup with proper release and cleanliness.
• Mix and apply resins hardeners and other materials following strict process parameters.
• Set up and operate vacuum bagging equipment ensuring proper sealing and leak detection.
• Trim drill and finish composite parts using hand and power tools with precision.
• Apply sealing priming and painting with high-quality finishes.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections to verify conformance.
• Safely operate autoclaves and ovens.
• Lead and support technicians to meet production goals and quality standards.
• Maintain a clean safe and organized workspace.
• Document all work for material traceability and quality control.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizen (required).
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in composites preferred.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with prepregs wet layup or vacuum infusion.
• Familiarity with aerospace/defense standards (AS9100 NADCAP) a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and process documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Experience with composite repair autoclaves and oven curing.
• Proficient with precision tools (calipers micrometers gauges).
• Experience in regulated manufacturing environments.
• Continuous improvement mindset (Six Sigma Green/Black Belt a plus).
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-motivated reliable and capable of working independently.
