Position Summary:

Palm House is seeking a dependable and professional Full-Time Overnight Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our guests, staff, and property during nighttime hours. The ideal candidate will have a calm demeanor, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a secure and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Patrolling & Surveillance:

• Conduct routine patrols of all interior and exterior areas of the property throughout the shift.
• Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems for any unusual activity.
• Secure all entrances, exits, doors, and gates during appropriate hours.

Incident Response:

• Respond promptly to disturbances, alarms, accidents, or emergencies, including medical incidents.
• Manage and de-escalate tense or confrontational situations with professionalism and discretion.
• Coordinate with emergency services (fire, police, EMT) when needed.

Guest & Staff Interaction:

• Greet and assist guests and employees in a courteous, respectful manner.
• Respond to guest concerns or requests related to safety or security.
• Provide escorts for staff or guests upon request, especially during late hours.

Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate and detailed logs of patrol activities, incidents, and observations.
• Write clear incident reports following any event involving safety or security.
• Report maintenance issues or hazards to the appropriate departments.

Policy Enforcement:

• Enforce property rules and policies, including noise, access control, and loitering restrictions.
• Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas and handle trespassing incidents appropriately.
• Support hotel management and overnight operations in maintaining order.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 1 year in a security, military, law enforcement, or hospitality-related security role.
• Availability: Must be able to work overnight full-time hours, including weekends, holidays.

Skills:

• Excellent observational and situational awareness
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful or emergency situations
• Professional appearance and conduct

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Must be able to climb stairs and perform physical patrols
• Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPR / First Aid certification
• Previous experience working in a hotel or luxury hospitality environment
• Familiarity with access control and surveillance systems
