Department Overview:
The OHSU Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) is seeking a full-time nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our team to be staffed in the EM Immediate Care Virtual Visits program.
The Immediate Care Virtual Visits (ICVV) program provides flexibility for patients to use their mobile device or computer from anywhere in Oregon or Washington to have a secure visit with an OHSU urgent care provider via video or asynchronously via an eVisit. The ICVV providers have the ability to diagnose and treat a wide range of adult and pediatric ( 1 year old) non-emergency medical conditions, and can call in prescriptions to the patient’s pharmacy of choice. The program is open 7 days a week, 7a.m. to 9p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8a.m. to 8p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a faculty member credentialed and privileged as a Physician Assistant (PA) or an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) (in a respective Specialty area; i.e., telemedicine). The APP is a member of the OHSU Professional Staff practicing in accordance with the respective bylaws. The APP shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. The APP is expected to comply with scope of practice, other laws, regulations, OHSU policy, and other applicable professional standards of practice.
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Instructor participates in providing telemedicine services as an advanced practice provider, according to the parameters of the written practice agreement (separate document) with the Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
