Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Government & Industry Relations, you will be an engaged advocate and business partner responsible for executing government relations and regulatory support to Genworth and CareScout. Responsibilities include interacting and developing relationships with state regulators, legislators, industry peers and other stakeholders; coordinating interaction between those stakeholders and internal Genworth teams; leveraging researching and writing skills for advocacy; engaging effectively with internal stakeholders including senior leaders; developing, executing and reporting on government relations work plans that advance Genworth business strategies; monitoring and reporting on regulatory and legislative developments relevant to Genworth and CareScout; managing legislative and regulatory proposals in coordination with Legal and Compliance; preparing and conducting training and education for policymakers, regulators, employees, consultants, and other stakeholders; assisting with departmental projects; managing PAC administration, lobbying expense reporting and political contribution tracking; and preparing PowerPoint presentations. Travel is required. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree, 5-7 years in legal or government relations with emphasis on regulatory affairs in highly regulated industries, strong research and writing skills, ability to develop strategies collaboratively, demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, strong communication skills, exceptional time management and organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, and proactive problem-solving skills. Preferred qualifications include Juris Doctor, Master of Public Administration or Policy, knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, long-term services and supports, experience as legislative staffer, and prior experience with long-term care insurance.
