Salary: $70,000 – $95,000 annually

Type: Full-TimeAbout the Role

Earth Retention is seeking a Design Engineer (EIT or PE) to join our engineering team delivering retaining wall design solutions for clients nationwide. You'll lead projects from concept through PE-stamped plans, working on MSE walls, tiered walls, soldier pile systems, and other geostructural designs across 40+ states.Key Responsibilities

• Lead retaining wall design projects from intake through final PE-stamped deliverables
• Perform engineering calculations for stability, bearing capacity, sliding, overturning, and reinforcement
• Design MSE walls, tiered walls, gravity walls, cantilever walls, and soldier pile systems
• Apply AASHTO LRFD, NCMA standards, IBC, and state-specific design codes
• Coordinate with sales team and clients on technical feasibility and project requirements
• Prepare final design drawings, shop drawings, and submittal packages
• Mentor design technicians and junior engineers
• Respond to RFIs and provide construction support

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
• EIT certification required (PE preferred)
• 3–7 years of engineering experience in geotechnical, structural, or civil design
• Experience with retaining wall design or earth retention systems preferred
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics, structural analysis, and geotechnical principles
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and engineering design software (Vespa, MSEW, ReSSA, or similar)
• Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD, NCMA standards, and IBC requirements
• Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
