Summary:

Under the leadership of the Chief Executive Officer, this Chief Administrative Officer is responsible for overseeing the overall academic performance as well as operations at Northwood Academy Charter School. The CAO directly supervises the Assistant Principals, Director of Operations, Deans, and Social Worker Supervisor. This position leads school-wide initiatives to improve student achievement; essentially acting as the primary leader for school leadership.

Key Job Duties:

• Builds systems of accountability within all departments (Academics, SPED, Culture, Operations, Social Work, etc.)
• Works with school leadership to closely monitor school improvement through a cycle of continuous improvement and sound management practices
• Provides frequent, actionable feedback to school leadership to improve their leadership practice and achieve better results
• Manages and supports implementation of the strategic plan initiatives related to the academic and operational outcomes of the school
• Manages and evaluates school leadership including assessing their effectiveness using established metrics
• Seeks and implements innovative and adaptive solutions to educational and organizational challenges to close achievement gaps
• Continually informs the CEO and the School Board when appropriate about all current issues and proposed resolutions
• Creates school calendar, school wide special events, and year-long Professional Development calendar
• Performs related duties as required or assigned

Experience/Qualifications:

• 5+ years of school leadership experience
• 3+ years of central office administrative leadership experience (inclusive of Principal experience)
• Successful large-scale educational project management experience
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to produce comprehensive reports and deliver presentations

Education/Certifications:

• Master’s Degree required
• PK-12 Principal Certification
